THE BRIEF

For half a century, United Teachers Los Angeles has been the guardian of public education. Our job? A rebrand that honors its legacy and a user-friendly website that provides 35k union members easy access to vital information.

THE BRAND

Fresh look. Same mission. We designed a 12-point star seal logo to salute the 12 brave organizations that joined forces to reshape California’s public education in the 70s. The new brand tone? Uplifting, direct, and resolute, just like the youth and community it serves. The brand identity expresses its revolutionary work by blending school motifs and a historical look. The brand is future-ready.

BRAND GUIDE

We created a brand guide that explains how to use logos, fonts, colors, and graphic elements. Now, staff can easily apply the new look to produce engaging content, simplify complex information, and highlight advocacy opportunities.

BRAND ANTHEM

Public education is a right worth fighting for. That’s why we created “We Are UTLA,” a celebration of collective action to shape history. Our creative idea? An overhead projector. Our script inspiration? That teacher who fires up young people with facts and tough love.
